Turmeric Braised Chicken with onion and ginger



Ingredients
3 Tbsp ghee
1 lg onion diced
2 Tbsp grated ginger
4 clove garlic minced
1 tsp ground turmeric
1/2 tsp mexican oregano
1/4 tsp each ground cinnamon and cardamom
1 c dry white wine
4 chicken thighs bone in skin removed
Directions
1. Remove the skin from the chicken. Season with salt and pepper and set aside.
2. Add the ghee to a large skillet with a lid. Add the onions and saute 5 minutes. Add the ginger, garlic, turmeric, oregano, cinnamon and cardamom. cook 1 minute until fragrant.
3. Add the wine and bring to a boil scrapping bottom of pan. Add the chicken and 1 cup of water. Bring to a simmer and cover
4. Simmer for about 20 minutes until no longer pink. The sauce will thicken when cooked. Serve the chicken with the sauce.
