Randa's Mom's Shredded Chicken

Ingredients
4-8 chicken breasts
1 stick butter
1 onion soup mix
1. (16oz) can beer (use something basic cuz it will affect the flavor)
Directions
1. Layer chicken breasts in bottom of a crockpot.
2. Sprinkle with the dry onion soup mix.
3. Cut up the butter and place on top of chicken.
4. Pour beer over the chicken.
5. Cover and cook on high for 3 hours, low for 5 hours.
6. The times are very approximate. Keep an eye on the chicken. (In the above photo I had just 4 chicken breasts. They were fully cooked in 3 hours. I would think if they were layered, with a total of 6 or 8 breasts, it might take longer.)
7. After they are cooked, shred the chicken with forks, then stir in the juice in the crockpot.
8. Serve on buns, or over rice or potatoes or noodles, or just eat! (Some people in the family like to add a piece of cheese on the meat before eating. Others like it with dill pickles. I like it plain!)
