Asian Essentials: Easy/Peasy Honey Garlic Chicken



Cook time: 15 Min  Prep time: 10 Min  Serves: 2 - 3
Ingredients
PLAN/PURCHASE
1 lb precooked, shredded or chopped chicken
THE SAUCE
3 clove garlic, minced
1/4 c tamari sauce, or liquid aminos
2 Tbsp oyster sauce
1 - 2 Tbsp clover honey
1 Tbsp rice vinegar
1/2 tsp ginger powder
1 - 2 pinch red chili flakes, or more to taste
1 dash toasted sesame oil
THE SLURRY
2 Tbsp filtered water
1 - 2 tsp cornstarch, or arrowroot powder
ADDITIONAL ITEMS
pineapple chunks
Directions
1. PREP/PREPARE
2. You will need a medium-size saucepan, or a skillet with high sides, to make this recipe.
3. The Chicken Use any part of the chicken you want… Light meat, dark meat, or a combination of both. I am using leftover chicken; however, if you do not have any, just cook up a breast or thigh, and there you go.
4. Gather your ingredients (mise en place).
5. Dice or shred the chicken.
6. Mix together all of the sauce ingredients.
7. Add to a saucepan and slowly bring to a simmer.
8. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch or arrowroot powder to make a slurry.
9. Add the slurry to the sauce and simmer while stirring until thickened.
10. Add the chicken.
11. Mix until all pieces are coated with the sauce and warmed through.
12. PLATE/PRESENT
13. Serve with some nice egg-fried rice, or other sides. Enjoy.
14. Keep the faith, and keep cooking.
