Air Fryer Chicken Shawarma Recipe



Cook time: 20 Min  Prep time: 10 Min  Serves: 6
Ingredients
THE CHICKEN
1/4 c canola oil
1/4 c fresh lemon juice
3 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground corriander
1/4 tsp ground pepper
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
2 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
THE YOGURT SAUCE
1/2 c greek yogurt
2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
2 clove garlic, minced
salt to taste
TO SERVE
6 pita rounds, warmed
chopped lettuce
thinly sliced tomato
sliced dill pickles or sliced cucumbers
Directions
1. Trim chicken thighs and slice into strips.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together canola oil, lemon juice, garlic, and spices. Add chicken and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least several hours and up to overnight.
3. Next, in a small bowl, whisk together yogurt, lemon juice, oil, and garlic. Season with salt. Refrigerate until ready to use.
4. Preheat Air Fryer to 375 degrees
5. Air Fry for 15-20 minutes, tossing halfway through.
6. Serve on Warm Pita Bread with desired toppings.
